Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

First and foremost, I would like to apologize on behalf of all us admins for the sheer number of expired submissions. In light of us being unable to keep up with all of the submissions from the nearly 250 members, we are looking for a couple of contributors!

General Contributor Expectations

Contributor applications will be considered and voted on by all of the current admins. Before applying, make you you understand what it is we'll be asking you to do.

Discuss and vote on submissions

Welcome new members.

Critique some pieces that have been declined.

Help to plan prompts and other events.

Devote a good amount of time to the group.

The Application Process

Each application should be sent via note to the group. If you have issues sending a note to the group, go ahead and send your application via note to ~MadHat11D6. We will let you know via note that your application has been received and we will tell you our decision (hopefully) within a week.

What is your experience with administrating groups (or judging a contests, or any leadership role etc.)?
This is just so we know how how much we'll need to teach you or how much your time might be split if you admin in other groups as well.

Oh I could be one. I am on every second day and I can do critiques pretty well (I tend to like short stories or poems). I can put a large amount of my time into the group when i am online and I love to read so reading through big galleries and welcoming new members of the group should be a breeze. I am very happy and get along great with others, if that description helps in anyway. I hope I can be an admin of the group.

Those are actually some strong suggestions. Nice and concise. The next time you do a critique, you should also consider some of the lit devices (such as metaphors and such). try to analyze the piece a little bit. Critiques are a lot easier when the person has outlined what they worry about in the piece. Try this one: [link]. There aren't actually many questions, but the author asks for flow, spelling/grammar errors, and anything else you'd like to add.
